Self Defense for Women

Part 5 - Fighting Back

Fight back against him

It is a fact that in the situation of a potential assault, women who fight back are more likely to get away than women who are passive.

Your aim is to strike, hurt and confuse your assailant. The most effective way to do this is to use your strongest weapons against his weakest parts. One of your strongest weapons will be your kicks. Remember to withdraw your leg quickly after impact so he doesn’t have a chance to throw you off balance. Also very effective are strikes with elbows (good if he is close to you), hammer fist and the heel of the palm.

His weakest points are his eyes, throat, groin and knees. A kick in the shins is also invariably painful. The other weak points are the face and abdomen.

Control his hips and hands

In a sexual assault he will need to get his hips close to you, so if you can control them, he will not be able to penetrate. This can be done by using your legs. He will use his hands as weapons to hit, slap and punch, so try to control them.
